Nothing happens when running the program
Running a second time prompts error 'Revenge of the Titans did not shut down correctly last time you tried to play!'
A rare Windows problem. Sorry - no fixes at the moment for this :( ... We're looking into it...
Game exits instantly, usually when clicking on any title screen buttons
A problem with proprietary ATI OpenGL drivers for Linux.
Free open source ATI drivers seem to work, such as the Radeon driver.
On start-up, all I get is a black and green screen
A problem with OpenGL (graphics) drivers on older computers.
Please update your OpenGL drivers (see drivers section below). Unfortunately on older Macs such as G4s this may not be possible, without getting a newer version of the OS.
On start-up, the game window is invisible, but mouse movement is restricted to it's geometry!
Temporary solution: on Windows try holding ALT and pressing TAB, then reselect the game from the available programs.
On starting, window is too big for the screen
Usually a problem with Linux and multiple monitors. You can now pass the following on the commandline to set custom window sizes...
Example to set windowed screen size:
./revenge.sh width=640 height=480
Example to customize fullscreen positioning:
./revenge.sh vx=0 vy=0 vw=640 vh=480
Characters are missing from registration details
Characters such as â, ë, ï õ and ü are missing from our font.
We will either add these characters to our font, if possible, or replace with un-accented characters.
The game doesn't recognise the keyboard
Possibly a problem with Linux in which iBus disallows keyboard focus on programs using Java.
Temporary solution: quit iBus before launching (thanks Conzar!)
Revenge of the Titans - Saved Games
It it possible to copy over saved game data to a newer version, on the same computer, but this may cause the game to crash so is not recommended.
Copy the slots folder from the previous version (eg. for Windows: C:\Users\user\Revenge of the Titans 1.80\slots) to the most recent version's folder.
Revenge of the Titans - Fixed Issues
- Error installing using a .deb package
- Norton Security reports download contains suspect code
- Desktop shortcut is missing it's target file
- 'Failed to find the Main class'
- 'Not a valid Win32 application'
- Certain sounds are choppy and cause slowdown
- 'Error opening file for writing: OpenAL32.dll'
- Shortcut keys for some turrets are wrong
